However, recent events have complicated this situation. This week, the Prince filed a complaint of domestic violence with the authorities in Tirana, the capital of Albania. According to his testimony, the incident occurred last Wednesday, March 6, when he went to visit his daughter.
During the visit, his former father-in-law, Gregj, allegedly insulted and threatened him. Furthermore, he alleges that Elia took sides with his father and attacked him verbally and physically, even pushing and hitting him. These images have caused consternation among the Albanian population. The Royal Household issued a statement expressing disappointment with law enforcement institutions, hinting at a possible violation of the right to anonymity. The prince's lawyer, Aranit Roshi, commented on a television program that this was the first time that the former couple faced such a delicate situation, since until then their relationship had been cordial.
The investigation is ongoing, and according to reports from the Sot newspaper, Judge Artan Haradinaj has ordered that Prince Leka and Elia maintain a minimum distance of five meters and that a nanny always be present when the prince visits his daughter.
