Prime Video announces a new season of 'Cites' (which is already filming)

Cites will have a new season. Well, he's having it. As Prime Video has just announced, Pau Freixas' series is already filming new installments in Barcelona and with a top-notch cast, as is customary.

It features Leonor Watling, Asier Etxeandía, Bruna Cusí, Verónica Echegui, Anna Castillo, Ricardo Gómez, Yolanda Ramos, Óscar Casas, Aitor Luna, Jorge Suquet, Fran Perea, Lola Rodríguez and Asia Ortega, with Casas and Rodríguez as the first to be seen on filming, although other actors have wanted to share photographs with their scripts.

Prime Video announces the project as a second season of Citas Barcelona although, taking into account that the first was a direct continuation of the Cites series broadcast on TV3, it can also be considered the fourth season of the Catalan series. Let us remember that in the original episodes of Prime, characters already known to the audience, such as those played by Nausicaa Bonnín and Laia Costa, were revisited.

The series has the same starting point: it tells encounters between strangers in the city of Barcelona, stories about what happens when technology disappears and the only thing left are two people with their own needs and contradictions. What is the first date like, when fears, secrets and expectations come into play. And, throughout the season, the characters mix, intertwine and intersect.

The season will consist of six episodes produced by Filmax and Citas La Serie, AIE, with the participation of Prime Video and, to a lesser extent, 3Cat. Eric Navarro and Pau Freixas return to the project as creative executive producers and the series will be directed by Nely Reguera, Gemma Ferraté, Paco Caballero, David Selvas and Eric Navarro himself who also appears as a scriptwriter along with Dani González, Clara Esparrach and Iván Mercadé.
