Pedro Sánchez goes to the funeral home to say goodbye to María Teresa Campos: "She broke schemes and represented many generations"

María Teresa Campos has left a void in the world of journalism and television. The mythical presenter she has passed away at dawn on Tuesday at the age of 82. This occurs days after being admitted to the Fundación Jiménez Díaz Hospital in Madrid for acute respiratory failure.

Her mortal remains have been transferred to the La Paz funeral home, located in Tres Cantos, Madrid, so that she can be fired by her family and loved ones. Terelu Campos and Carmen Borrego, daughters of the communicator, have not hesitated to open the funeral chapel to the public for anyone who wants to come and say their last goodbye. And among those who have arrived in the last few hours is Pedro Sánchez.

Before 9 in the morning, the acting President of the Government has published a message through social networks. "María Teresa Campos, one of the greatest communicators in our country, leaves us. A lifetime dedicated to television and radio. A pioneer. She was the 'queen of mornings', voice and habitual company in our homes. My love to his family and friends", he expressed in his X (Twitter) account.

And not only that. Pedro Sánchez has not hesitated to go in person to the funeral home where the presenter's mortal remains are being watched over. "Not only did he break glass ceilings, important as this is, but I also believe that he broke many patterns in communication, innovating in programs and representing many generations," he recounted.

For the politician, María Teresa Campos has been very important in people's homes: "We approached the television screen to see her." In addition, she wanted to put on the table how endearing and "committed to her time" she was.

And he knew her very well. "I had the opportunity to be interviewed by her and since then we have had a constant relationship and she always seemed to me to be a very knowledgeable woman of current affairs," he explained.

Such was the good relationship between the presenter and the President, that they did not stop talking during his last stage of life. "Even in the moments where she suffered the most from the disease, we maintained that contact," she wanted to make clear.

In addition, he has sent a message of affection and gratitude to both María Teresa Campos and the family. "The only thing I can say on behalf of the Government of Spain, to her and her family, is thank you for so much. She did a lot, a lot of good for Spanish society," she concluded.
