Ortega Cano and his disastrous interpretation of 'Como una ola' by Rocío Jurado: "Surreal"

The interview of the journalist Jenaro Castro with José Ortega Cano in the program Plano general, on TVE's La 2, would have gone unnoticed had it not been for the disastrous interpretation of one of Rocío Jurado's songs at the hands of the bullfighter, the one who was her second husband.

In fact, such was the terrible knowledge of the lyrics of the song, in this case Como una ola, that the networks have been filled with comments criticizing the right-hander and calling what he experienced on public television "surreal". "I don't remember very well," Ortega Cano tried to justify himself before the great musical fiasco.

"Rocío Jurado is the woman of my life, she is the greatest artist I have ever known and the best mother I have ever known." With these words, José Ortega Cano defined La Más Grande in Plano general, the Jenaro Castro program on La 2 de TVE. Hence, to end the interview, the presenter proposed to the right-hander, already in the company of his daughter Gloria Camila, that he sing one of the famous songs of the Jury.

A challenge that the right-hander could have saved, if it weren't for the fact that he forgot the letter. That is, when singing the beginning of Como una ola, the song chosen by the journalist, he did not even remember the famous "Like a wave, your love came into my life."

In fact, Ortega Cano began his disastrous interpretation of this historic success with: “Like a wave, my love stayed in your life. Like a wave, of love…”. And then, seeing that he didn't know how to continue, he said: "I don't remember the song very well." So her daughter tried to give him a cable by giving her the foot with a phrase. But not with those.

Ortega Cano continued with another stanza like this: "Like a wave... And I arrived caught in your storm, and when I could realize it, I loved you like a wave." Faced with the disaster, the presenter threw a cape on the guest and joked about it: "You have to admit that she has courage, but Rocío Jurado sang it better."

As usually happens in these cases, and more when the protagonist is Ortega Cano, this fiasco went viral on social networks with numerous comments and criticisms of the right-hander, not because of his way of singing better or worse Like a wave, but because he didn't even give one in terms of lyrics despite being one of the most important songs in Rocío Jurado's musical career.

"All of Spain knows 'Como una ola' by heart except him", "everything surreal", "pathetic", "shameful moment", "if you don't know how to fight, why get in!", "ridiculous", "Ortega Cano in the wave of the semen of strength”, “it is not even known”, “if you can finish watching the video without being overwhelmed by the shame of others, they first validate you for dramatic art” or “my ears bleed”, were some of the opinions expressed by viewers after the video went viral.
