Netflix announces the second season of 'Berlin'

Few Spanish series have had as much international success as La Casa de Papel. After a discreet stint on Antena 3, the streaming platform Netflix included the series starring Úrsula Corberó, Miguel Herrán, Itziar Ituño and Álvaro Morte in its catalog and managed to lead the social conversation for months.

Netflix wanted to get the most out of the successful series in which some 'professional' thieves attack the National Currency and Stamp Factory and later the Bank of Spain, so it announced the spin-off of one of its most beloved characters. : Berlin, the thief played by actor Pedro Alonso.

After a few hard months of recording and a difficult task of editing and post-production, the series starring Pedro Alonso, Michelle Jenner, Joel Sánchez, Julio Peña Fernández, Tristán Ulloa and Begoña Vargas, among others, was launched on December 29, 2023.

In a matter of hours, the audiovisual project became the most viewed on the platform in our country and in other international territories, a position in which it lasted for several weeks.

Although many were critical of the fiction and argued that Berlin did not bring ''anything new'' to viewers and that it was limited to ''repeating patterns'' of the original plot of La casa de papel, many fans of the series defended the story until the end and congratulated the cast of actors, who managed to create an ''enjoyable'', fun and tense atmosphere.

Through a funny sketch, the streaming platform has announced that there will be a second season. Pedro Alonso stars in the scene in which he can be seen getting into an elevator that takes him to floor two (second season).

The decision of the audiovisual company has caused a stir on social networks such as I finished the season in one afternoon'', ''A great day for people like me'', etc.

Although the majority of comments have been of gratitude and praise for the film company, many criticisms and advice have also emerged regarding the script and the production of the new batch of episodes about the gang of criminals: ''Stop the romanticism and put it into action, please'', ''Is it too early to ask that Alicia and Raquel have a lot of scenes in the second season?'', etc.
