Miss Czech Republic, Krystyna Pyszková, new Miss World

Since its inception in 1951, the international beauty pageant has captured worldwide attention. Beyond physical appearance, Miss World values commitment to social causes and the promotion of global understanding and peace. The pageant began on February 17, with 112 candidates competing in various events, including swimsuit, evening gown, interview and talent shows, before the grand finale in Mumbai, India.

In the final gala, the first eliminations reduced the group to the 40 finalists, among whom was Paula Pérez, representative of Spain. All the contestants paraded in dresses designed by Indian talents in tribute to the host country.

As the competition progressed, tension increased and the group became smaller. Paula managed to reach the Top 12 of the finalists. The Miss World 2024 crown, designed by the Japanese firm Mikimoto, with a blue globe in the center surrounded by six white gold branches representing the continents, was awarded to Krystyna Pyszková, representative of the Czech Republic.

Pyszková beat Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon, who came in second place, followed by Lesego Chombo from Botswana and Aché Abrahams from Trinidad and Tobago, completing the field of finalists in the 71st edition of this prestigious beauty pageant.

The current Miss World crown, introduced in 2017, has an estimated value of $100,000 and is the property of the organization, although the winner can wear it during her reign, receiving a replica to keep it. Miss World receives one million dollars and also becomes an ambassador for various charitable causes supported by the organization, such as humanitarian efforts, medical and environmental projects.
