The television program presented by Ana Rosa Quintana had Mario Alonso Puig, a medical graduate and member of the prestigious Harvard University, as a guest on Thursday afternoon. He specializes in medicine related to the body and mind, but he has dedicated much of his life to investigating the great enigma of human beings: how to achieve happiness.

Thanks to this study, Mario Alonso Puig has been traveling half the world for more than 20 years with his acclaimed conferences, where he explains the keys to human behavior. In addition, the doctor has also become popular on social networks, where he accumulates millions of views with his videos about his knowledge of human beings.

The presenter began the interview wanting to know if Mario Alonso Puig had found happiness. ''I think that when we talk about happiness we all have to be humble and not try to say that one has found something that is of such caliber. Let's say that I have had experiences of profound happiness and I will always consider myself a student of this topic,' she declared.

''You have to be comfortable in your skin and with life. If you are comfortable wherever you are and there will be things that we don't like, but if despite that we continue to love life, I believe that that is what comes closest to happiness,'' the doctor assured.

Puig explained that the Harvard University study on happiness assured that the key was not in where, but in the people. ''What really makes a human being happy is connection, feeling loved and being able to love,'' she stated. Regarding what was contrary to happiness, the doctor confessed that it was fear. ''It is the opposite of love, the opposite of love is not hate, but fear. When a person feels loved and understood then he touches happiness,' he said.

However, Ana Rosa Quintana confessed that someone who is not loved could also be happy. ''Love has a characteristic that is not what we usually understand by love. For me it is the recognition of the greatness that exists in you and in others,'' the surgeon stated. Furthermore, Puig claimed that the digestive system was closely related to happiness. ''When we talk about biochemistry, about happiness, we have to talk about a series of hormones and neurotransmitters such as endorphins. But there is another one that is most associated with happiness, which is serotonin. The fascinating thing is that 90% of it is not produced by the brain but by the digestive system,' he explained.
