Madrid, epicenter of contemporary art

These days Madrid becomes the center of attention for all those who appreciate, create, promote and collect contemporary art. On new dates, from March 6 to 10 (traditionally Art Week had been held in February), four simultaneous fairs are held throughout the city.

The pioneering Arco Madrid is not only the most important fair in the country, but a significant global platform for the contemporary art market. This 2024 it reaches its 43rd edition with the Caribbean as its central project, which revolves around the artistic scenes of the territories connected by that sea.

In addition, it will once again present very diverse content through the galleries of the general program, the backbone of the proposal, plus the Opening section, which shows the work of a selection of dynamic young galleries, and Never the same, which delves into the historical link of the fair with Latin American art.

For its part, Art Madrid has established itself as an essential event both for its proposal - with 25 national and 11 international galleries and nearly two hundred artists - and for the number of visitors it receives at its usual headquarters, the privileged Gallery of Crystal from the Cibeles Palace, which last year exceeded 100,000. It presents a powerful general program and a renewed parallel program of activities, among which The Meetup, to visit five artists' studios, or Open Booth, a space dedicated to giving visibility to emerging artists.

JustMad returns to the Neptune Palace, in the heart of the art triangle, to celebrate its 15th edition. The fair, which has been defined from its beginnings above all as a space for discovery, continues with its firm purpose of making known new creative and curiatorial visions. And, in fact, 50% of the galleries participating in this edition are doing so for the first time.

And, heading into its first decade, UVNT Art Fair matures and changes shape. To begin with, because its eighth edition will be held in a new – and emblematic – space: the Plaza de Matadero, where, in a tent ten meters high and almost 3,000 square meters in area, you can see the proposals of 38 national and international galleries. international exhibitions that bring us the latest trends in urban art.
