Lydia Lozano's hilarious call to the RAE live: "To begin with, don't insult me"

Pulpillo, water with mystery, dome, go to the beach or chuminero, are some of the terms that Sálvame has invented in the last 14 years and that give clear proof of its hallmark and contribution to language. For this reason, this Tuesday, Lydia Lozano had an important mission: to go to the RAE so that the term of her famous dance, chuminero, was included as a term in the Spanish dictionary.

Since the journalist did not achieve her goal of having someone receive her, she chose to call by phone. However, what happened during the call was most surreal. A hilarious moment in which it seemed that Lozano and her interlocutor were playing the broken phone. "Don't insult me," they came to tell the journalist.

The mission was almost impossible: to get someone from the Royal Spanish Academy of Language to receive Lydia Lozano live so that the most used terms in Sálvame were included in the dictionary. But the collaborator took to the streets, signs at the ready with the words invented in these years by the program, and she tried her luck.

After all, setting a precedent on television by inventing terms that society would later include in its vocabulary is not something that is usually achieved, hence the show that was put on this Tuesday in the Telecinco program.

First, Lydia Lozano tried to gain access to the RAE building, located at number 4 Felipe VI street in Madrid. But the institutional headquarters was closed. Later, the journalist asked a neighbor from the building across the street, even passers-by who passed by... But given the impossibility of having more information, she decided to take her mobile phone and call the association's phone number.

"Good afternoon, can you tell me the hours that the RAE has so that I can make a series of efforts?" Lozano asked the operator. To which he wanted to know what steps he was referring to. Here the collaborator identified herself with her first and last name and said “she wants to ask for advice to write…”.

At that moment, a most amusing moment occurred. The interlocutor wanted to respond to the journalist, but at the same time she was communicating with her director, David Valldeperas, who was speaking to him through the earpiece. "I just can't hear you, Valldeperas," Lozano complained.

Suddenly, the operator blurted out: "For starters, don't insult me." What left Lozano completely confused and caused laughter from his colleagues on set. "Valldeperas is the director, whose name is David Valldeperas," justified the journalist who did not believe what had just happened.

Meanwhile, Kiko Hernández, Adela González and Terelu Campos could not contain their laughter. In fact, the daughter of María Teresa Campos joked about what happened and said: "Valldeperas you are an insult." But Lydia Lozano continued without giving credit and without listening well to the operator, who turned out to be a concierge who went on to describe the steps to follow to carry out the aforementioned steps.
