Leonardo DiCaprio invests in a Catalan startup

Leonardo DiCaprio invests in a Catalan renewable energy startup. The actor, one of the best-known faces in Hollywood, will become a shareholder in SolarMente, a subscription-based photovoltaic panel installation company.

The company was founded in 2020 and has its headquarters in the Poblenou neighborhood, in Barcelona. They chose to settle in Spain to develop their business as it is one of the countries with the most hours of sunshine.

This will be the first direct investment that the American star makes in a company in Spain, although the amount he will invest is unknown. The company has explained that they made the proposal to him and that he quickly wanted to participate.

According to the economic newspaper Expansión, the operation could be closed before the end of the year due to an important "standard." That is, between 8 and 14 million euros.
