Joana Sanz's first reaction after Dani Alves' conviction for rape: "The thing is to criticize, right?"

Yesterday Dani Alves learned of his prison fate. The former Brazilian soccer player has been in preventive detention since January 20 after being accused of sexually assaulting a young woman in a Barcelona nightclub on December 30, 2022.

Finally, last Thursday he learned his final sentence: he has been sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for sexual assault; He must compensate the victim with 150,000 euros and pay legal costs; He faces a 2-month fine with a daily fee of 150 euros; 9 years and 6 months of restraining order and incommunication with the victim have been imposed on him; plus 5 years of supervised release.

His still wife, Joana Sanz, came to testify during one of the days of the trial. However, after hearing the sentence, the Canarian model seemed impassive and even, according to some, indifferent to the fate of her husband. What's more, she even received some criticism for sharing two images on her social networks that many considered somewhat "frivolous" given the situation that the Brazilian international was experiencing.

In the first, one in which he is seen holding a glass of coffee; the second, with several makeup brushes. Two images that sparked debate among users of the social network, who immediately began to criticize his attitude. Far from ignoring the controversy, Joana Sanz responded to her detractors through her Stories, with a very direct message.

The model began by saying: "I was thinking about whether or not to give more hype to certain incoherent headlines." The Canarian woman regrets that in certain sectors of the press they describe her as "frivolous" or "a little girl." "Why? Because I'm working? But then, if I'm not working, it's because 'they pay my bills' or... Worse things, worse atrocities," she continues. "The thing is to criticize, right?"

"Another thing, what I publish on social networks is not what I feel 24/7," he insists, ensuring that what he publishes "does not always have to be how I feel or how I stop feeling. When I I open it and want to express how my feelings are, I do it, and when I don't, I don't do it," says the model.

"My friends know that, my environment knows it; that in the end, they are the ones who are living with me. So, stop being guided by malicious or distorted headlines, which are going nowhere," asks the Canarian, who even commands A final piece of advice: "Work, people. In the end, the refrigerator doesn't fill itself."

With this declaration of intentions, Joana Sanz wants her detractors to let her get on with her life, since, once again, she has become an involuntary protagonist of the controversies in which her still husband has been involved.

His message comes at a time when, in addition, the Brazilian's lawyer has assured that they will appeal the ruling of the Barcelona Court to higher authorities, after considering that it is not a firm resolution. The appeal will be presented to the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, which will be in charge of issuing its ruling in a few months.
