Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter, scammed by a co-worker

Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter have confessed to having been scammed by an alleged co-worker. The couple has recounted in Horizon, their joint program, the horrible situation they experienced.

The scam suffered by the Deportes COPE team at the hands of Willy Valadés continues to generate reactions and has even encouraged some presenters to share similar circumstances experienced in the past. Jiménez and Porter have been honest with the audience and have related with all kinds of details how they themselves were victims of a scam.

"One day, in the middle of Alcalá street, someone comes and identifies himself as a colleague of ours, with a cameraman. In 20 years of television we had seen so many cameras that he really couldn't locate him. He said that his work with us had been more punctual, his speech was very well threaded", Jiménez began recalling.

"He told us that he was glad that things were going so well for us, although he, on the other hand...", adds Ike rJiménez. "We were interested in knowing how he was doing. If his daughter with cancer, his wife admitted... They terrify you in 30 seconds, they are professionals. As soon as you hear this person in the middle of the street, you with your success, and he, of Suddenly, a poor victim of the most terrible disease, you break down."

In addition, one of the reasons why it touched them even more is that it coincided with the fact that Porter and Jiménez were going to look for their daughter. "We were precisely going to pick up our daughter at her parents' house. He told us that he had come to see her daughter at the Niño Jesús hospital, where she had been hospitalized for months and was almost about to die," explained Carmen Porter. .

"I see you and I hear you, but I'm next to my dying daughter. You break down and, although you don't know what camera it was after so many years, he asks you for money and of course, you fall," added Jiménez.

"He asked us for money saying that he was in a terrible situation, in which he could hardly even take a toy to his daughter to the hospital. Our souls fell at our feet. He told us to give him an address so that he could return us the money, but of course, we weren't going to give it to him. So we gave him all the money we had on us," Porter concluded.

The surprise came later, when they found out that they had been the victims of a professional con man. "A good handful of colleagues from the television media had met the same cameraman, who was never a cameraman, who invented that speech, who was stationed in certain places in Madrid to step out and give you the stick," acknowledged Iker Jiménez .
