"I'm tired of being strong": the lawyer of Dani Alves' victim gives the last minute about her client after her release

A few hours ago the decision of the Barcelona Court to decree provisional release on bail of one million euros for Dani Alves became known. The footballer was sentenced in February to four and a half years in prison for the rape of a young woman in a well-known nightclub in Barcelona. After this, his lawyer Inés Guardiola did not hesitate to request an appeal and his freedom, something that has been partially granted.

One day after this ruling, the lawyer in charge of defending the victim did not hesitate to speak on the program Let's see to give the latest news about her client. "The client is very hurt, very indignant and she told me: 'I'm tired of being strong,'" she confessed.

As the lawyer Ester García has reported, the young woman "has endured a lot" to get to the point where they are and feels hurt to see that "in less than a month since the conviction was handed down, the release of the convicted person is decreed." ". Something that she finds "difficult to explain."

Likewise, she has put on the table the "preferential nature" that, according to her, this procedure has had. "That is, let us keep in mind that a sexual assault has been investigated and judged in less than a year and a month, this is totally exceptional. And it has been because it is a weighty cause," she confessed.

And he wanted to make it clear that in his 22 years of career in these types of procedures he has not seen such a quick resolution. But if there is something that has outraged the victim, it is seeing that "her efforts have been of no use" despite the fact that he feels that "they have believed him."

On the other hand, he has expressed that, in his opinion, there continues to be a risk of flight. "In fact, the order states that, in a certain way, this risk persists. And, therefore, the only thing that has changed is that there is a conviction," he added.

Even so, he has revealed that the accusations continue to maintain their position of requesting nine and 12 years in prison, so it remains to be seen what will happen when the relevant appeals are resolved. "We do not agree with repairing the damage," he added, because, for them, there is no will to repair it.

Finally, he stated that this low sentence is not due to the Law of just yes it means yes. "The penalty could be between four and eight years in prison. The fact that four and a half years were imposed is a discretion of the court, it has absolutely nothing to do with the law," she declared, visibly indignant.
