2023 has been a complicated year for Mediaset España. With the change in management, the new leadership of the communication group decided to dispense with some programs on Telecinco and other channels to make television "more family-friendly." This is how Sálvame ended. However, the results have not been as expected and audiences have reached historic lows.

Shortly after the end of the program presented by Jorge Javier Vázquez, the network announced that Big Brother VIP would return, a format that has allowed them to survive in prime time on some nights and that has made them lead the social conversation on networks and platforms.

Weeks after the start of the contest, the news came to light confirming that, for the new year, Telecinco would recover GH Dúo, a couples format that had already been tested in the past and which had María Jesús Ruiz as the official winner.

As reported exclusively by the Yotele portal, the reality show produced by Zeppelin TV will have a very varied casting that will try to surprise the public. For the moment, the media specialized in television has announced the name of the first official contestant: Elena Rodríguez.

Known for being Adara Molinero's mother and for having defended her in different reality shows, Rodríguez participated a few years ago in Supervivientes, a contest in which she managed to go very far and gain the affection of the public.

According to the aforementioned media, Rodríguez wanted to compete with someone close to him who was not his daughter. At the moment it has not been specified who will be her companion, but her son is also left out of the equation. Some of her followers fear that Mediaset will reunite Rodríguez with Adara's ex, Hugo Sierra, as they did in Supervivientes 2020.

Marta Flich has been Mediaset España's big bet when it comes to directing reality shows. Although the communication group had presenters of the stature of Ion Aramendi or Carlos Sobera in her pool, she decided to trust the presenter of Everything is a Lie to host the gala weeks of Big Brother VIP. Happy with the result, the leaders have decided to count on the journalist for the new project in pairs, which will premiere, as confirmed by YoTele, next Thursday, January 11.

GH Duo will take over the eighth edition of GH VIP, which will come to an end next Thursday, December 21, at which time the audience vote will be made public and the briefcase will be given to the winner.
