Edwin Arrieta's family seeks large compensation after his murder

The Daniel Sancho case continues to progress with the passing of the weeks. The Spanish cook has been locked up in a Thai prison since the beginning of August, after confessing to the murder of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta. The data on the case, as well as the reactions and answers that came from Koh Samui, are added to the replicas of the families of the victim and the accused, with the intention of solving the facts in the future trial as soon as possible.

In the case of Arrieta's relatives, their requests seek to solve the economic and psychological setbacks suffered in response to the events, after the autopsy revealed that he had died with his throat cut at the hands of the arrested person. According to what has transpired in the En boca de todos de Cuatro program, they would be looking to receive compensation in the amount of 500,000 euros. In this way they would seek to cover the expenses that have been generated since the crime happened.

“They want the highest possible. Being dismembered and due to the pain of the family, it means more quantity ”, they detailed in the program. This situation would directly involve the parents of the accused: Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchalo. In Spain, since Daniel Sancho does not have any type of patrimony, the responsibility of paying this amount would fall on the parents. At the moment the figure is not confirmed, but it would be around those six figures.

While this issue is resolved and the date of the trial is announced, which should take place before the end of the year, Arrieta's family continues to talk about what happened and leave strong statements. "I quickly called the Colombian consulate and asked them to please not let that man leave the country because I suspected him," Darling, the Colombian surgeon's sister, said about Daniel Sancho when the events occurred.

“I asked him what he knew about my brother and he told me that he lost track of him on the beach. Holy God! How can he be your friend and not know where he is? I told him to run and report it, ”he said on the day of the disappearance, stating that he did not trust the defendant. Once the Colombian consulate confirmed that he would contact the Thai police, the news of the death was not long in coming, leaving her sister and the rest of the family in shock.

According to his testimony, everything happened when he received a call from the consulate, confirming that they had found a body. "I asked him: 'Is he my brother?' The worker was silent, and then I knew: he was my brother, ”Darling recounted. When informing her loved ones, her mother commented that she imagined the worst after learning of the disappearance: "I had a presentiment, that my son had been killed."
