Daniel Sancho continues in provisional prison for the murder and dismemberment of the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta. Since his imprisonment, there have been two occasions on which he has been able to see his mother, Silvia Bronchalo, who arrived in Thailand last Thursday to be by her son's side, accompanied by Embassy personnel. Spanish.
The media in Spain closely follow everything related to this case. For this reason, Edwin Arrieta's family has gone one step further and has contacted a law firm in Spain, in order to thus have legal representation in our country, as well as in Colombia and Thailand, where the case is being handled.
The lawyer Luis Romero is from now on the spokesman for the Arrieta family in Spain, whose primary motivation is to somehow control everything that is being said about the deceased surgeon in the native country of his confessed murderer, in order to protect his good name now that he can't defend himself.
Given the doubts expressed by the defense of the Sancho family about the veracity of the evidence or the investigation procedures, Romero stated in Espejo Público last Thursday that "the police evidence is very solid to demonstrate the guilt of Mr. Sancho" and that the Arrieta family "will respect the sentence that of course they want to be condemnatory." Regarding the type of sentence they expect for the confessed murderer of Edwin Arrieta, Romero stated that the family "would not be in favor of the death penalty but would be in favor of life imprisonment."
"For Edwin's family it is a very low blow to be talking about his brother's sexual condition or other aspects," the lawyer reiterated, given the information in the Spanish media in recent days. The victim's family insists that everything must be focused on the crime and that "they should not be derailed from the truly important fact, which is Sancho's guilt, and not try to victimize him."
The lawyer also expressed the intentions of the Arrieta family in Así es la vida, a program in which he collaborates, also reading a statement in which he makes the family's intentions clear. "Edwin Arrieta is not responsible for his own death", but Daniel Sancho, and any information that deviates from that fact are "low blows" that pretend to ignore the fact that "a macabre crime" has been committed.
Thus, the family already has legal representation in the three countries, to be able to face "both the criminal process and the insults that could be being made against the memory of the doctor and that the family wants to save his good name and of course he is always respected ”, Romero transmitted.
“We are still baffled because we don't know the real reason for Edwin's death. There are many speculations: a stab wound, a blow to the head... The closure of the investigation leaves many questions, "lamented Nancy Jattin, a friend of the surgeon, in the aforementioned program.
