Céline Dion reappears in public after three years of fighting rigid person syndrome

Céline Dion has reappeared in public for the first time in three and a half years. The Canadian singer attended a hockey game in Las Vegas on Monday night pitting the Vegas Golden Knights against the Montreal Canadiens. Nobody expected Dion's presence, away from the spotlight since she was diagnosed with rigid person syndrome.

The singer appears in a photo published by Chantal Machabée, vice president of communications for the Canadian team. "From the great visit to our game yesterday in Las Vegas. Thank you @celinedion for your great generosity. The entire team was very happy to meet you and your family," writes the person in charge in an Instagram post.

The Canadian was accompanied at all times by her three sons, René-Charles, Nelson and Eddy, who also came down to the locker room to greet the athletes.

During the meeting, the singer showed her closest side and even dared to joke with the hockey players. 45 minutes in which there were also greetings, photographs and brief conversations, according to a video published by local media.

"She looked very good, glowing. She chatted a lot, made a lot of jokes. It was a great evening for Céline. It was really fun. We were very moved to see her like that, to see her well," Machabée explained to Le Journal de Québec.

Céline Dion announced last December that she suffers from stiff person syndrome. Since then, she has lived discreetly in the city of Las Vegas, far from the stages that have given her so much success.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), stiff person syndrome is characterized by episodes of stiffness and muscle spasms of the muscles of the trunk and arms and legs, often caused by a increased sensitivity to noise, touch and as a startle response.
