Carlos Herrera reflects on ETA terrorism: "That they want to kill you is not a tasteful dish"

Carlos Herrera reveals in an interview for the program 'Mi casa es la tuya' by Bertín Osborne on Telecinco, the chilling moments in which ETA tried to end his life. The well-known radio presenter recounts how in the year 2000 he received a package bomb at the station where he worked and how he managed to escape from this attack. According to Herrera, he was aware that his life was in danger and decided to flee to Miami to protect himself.

In the interview, Carlos Herrera reflects on the "socialization of suffering" promoted by ETA and mentions that the terrorist group was looking for "the appropriate targets". Fortunately, the announcer was able to tell his story, but he also mentions other victims, such as Luis del Olmo, who was also targeted by ETA.

During those difficult moments, Herrera had the support of her then partner, Mariló Montero. However, he decided to go to Miami, convinced that if he stayed in Spain, he would be found by the terrorists. For several months, he took refuge in the American city thanks to a job offer.

During the interview, Bertín Osborne asks him what he would say to those who tried to assassinate him. Herrera replies that it wouldn't be worth it to start a conversation, since he would show how little importance his life has for them. However, he advises that only if there was sincere repentance would he consider speaking to those who tried to end his life.

This revealing interview reveals the courage and resilience of Carlos Herrera in the face of the threat of terrorism, as well as the importance of addressing these traumatic experiences and reflecting on the violence suffered by many people at the hands of ETA.
