Antena 3 wins October and celebrates two years of television leadership

With the audience data for the month of October in hand (12.9% screen share), Antena 3 has completed two uninterrupted years of leadership. A situation that seemed unthinkable in mid-2021. The successes of Atresmedia's main network, added to the wear and tear of Telecinco, which entrusted everything to reality television with which it fed its entire schedule for years, have led to this turnaround in audiences. And along the way, La 1 (10.4% share in October) has positioned itself between both private networks, relegating Telecinco (9.7% last month) to third position since July.

This change in cycle has been developing and transforming since long before the 'sorpasso'. In January 2020, Antena 3 began leading the news and has done so uninterruptedly until now. Thanks to the locomotive effect of Antena 3 Noticias, the network began to lead the after-dinner service in June. The news along with the good data from the daily series Amar es para siempre began to weaken the figures of Sálvame.

Also in 2020, the year of the pandemic, the Pasapalabra contest returned to the network after the judicial conflict with Mediaset over its rights. The contest, now presented by Roberto Leal, immediately established itself in its time slot and, together with Antena 3 Noticias and El hormiguero, became a solid trident for the network.

In August 2020, Antena 3 began to lead prime time. His commitment to large family formats with proven international success gave him good results. Mask Singer and the recovery of the different versions of La Voz (stolen from Telecinco in 2019) as well as the continued success of Tu cara me sona were safe bets to lead the night.

The arrival of the series Tierra Bitter in July 2021 to the network's afternoons was a phenomenon and unleashed a fever for Turkish series that until then had been relegated to thematic channels. A few months later, in November, Antena 3 then began its uninterrupted leadership, which has now been two years.

In March 2022, the network begins to lead the afternoon and reinforces its commitment in October with the premiere of And now Sonsoles, which little by little consolidates and deepens the audience wound of Sálvame. And in September 2023, after Ana Rosa Quintana's goodbye to Telecinco's mornings to disembark in the afternoons, Antena 3 is also above Telecinco in the mornings from Monday to Friday, which means achieving leadership of all the day slots and consolidate the model.

The distance with its main rival, Telecinco, has been increasing throughout this time. In November 2021, the distance in screen share of Antena 3 over Telecinco was 0.4 points; in October 2022 of 1.9 points and in October of this year of 2.7 points.
