A worker from 'Save me' and 'Survivientes' denounces homophobic attacks by the protagonist of the latest Equality campaign

On the occasion of the celebration of LGTBI Pride in 2023, the Ministry of Equality has launched an awareness campaign that focuses on the elderly. The protagonist of the spot is an old woman who remembers her husband, now deceased, while she thinks about the advances in rights achieved in recent times.

What was intended to raise awareness, however, has been clouded by the experience of a journalist with the actress who stars in the campaign. Asier Montaño has denounced the episode of homophobia that he experienced with her on her social networks and has explained the relationship that unites them both.

"This lady (who is an actress) owns two floors in my building," Montaño explained on his Twitter account, later detailing the homophobic attack he received from him: "A while ago he told me: 'Are you a fagot? , right? Because he's not a man,'" he said.

Asier is one of the professionals linked to different Mediaset formats in recent years. In particular, he has been part of the Sálvame team as editor and scriptwriter from the beginning of the year 2022 and until its end. Previously, he has worked as a community manager on La isla de las temptaciones and as a writer on Survivors, among other programs.

Montaño has complemented his public complaint with a series of videos that prove the accusations against the woman. In addition, she confirms that she has already spoken "with a lawyer" on the matter. "Enough of always doubting the victim. I am part of the group and I just want them to respect us and let us live," she asks on her networks.

"What's wrong? You're a fagot, right?" The old woman can be heard asking in the video, responding with a laugh that "it shows a long way off" and justifying it that "he's not a man", in tune with the journalist's opening words. "It is a personal experience that left me freaking out and that now, seeing her act as a person who supports the LGTBIQ community, leaves me even more amazed," Asier concluded.
