A single woman from 'First Dates' scares her date away by talking about politics: ''I bit my tongue''

First Dates  has become the perfect place to try to find love. For this reason, the most famous restaurant on the small screen welcomes a new batch of diners every night, who come to the Cuatro space with the hope of meeting someone with similar tastes and convictions. However, the program team does not always get the pairing right and the diners end up having a most peculiar time.

One of the dates of the night was the one starring Irene and Álvaro. The 33-year-old single Asturian woman arrived at the restaurant claiming she had no complexes and confessing to being a Vox sympathizer. She hadn't been with anyone for more than a year, but now she was more than ready to meet a hard-working man, with projects and "with blood." ''I don't want a complement on the side. To have a bag I buy it at Zara,' she declared. Furthermore, she confessed that her ideal man was someone like Santiago Abascal.

His date was going to be Álvaro, a 30-year-old from Madrid, who considered himself a ''neighborhood boy''. ''I'm generous and I love giving people good vibes,'' he commented. The first impression among the singles was not particularly good. And Irene was greatly disappointed when she met Álvaro. "How little blood is seen," she said.

Moments later, the presenter accompanied the couple to their table, where they began the evening talking about their hobbies. A point where they both agreed since they confessed to being great lovers of hiking and traveling. ''She seems like a super daring girl to me,'' the bachelor stated. ''I see him with very little spirit,'' the single woman pointed out again.

But the bachelor's drive to want to know many things about the single woman caused a new disappointment in Irene. ''It's about burning the issues and I want more dialogue,'' she asserted. But at a certain point during the evening, the little complicity that the couple was having disappeared when the single woman confessed her passion for the Church and for Vox.

''I'm up to here with priests. If there is so much hunger in the world, let them sell the Vatican paintings,'' he commented. ''That is heritage (...) Without a problem I tell you that I am a voter and supporter of Vox. The policies and everything they say is that I applaud them,'' commented Irene. A statement that Álvaro did not like at all. ''I was going to answer it wrong, but I bit my tongue,'' he asserted. Although the man from Madrid clarified that he would have no problem having a partner with a different political ideology. ''He says in a very concise way the things he thinks. "I like people to get wet," she explained.

In the final stretch of the evening, the singles tried to be clear and confess what they thought about each other. But instead of being realistic, both chose not to be completely sincere. A decision that was going to have consequences in the final decision when the single woman confessed that she "had needed more conversation." ''You haven't asked me either,'' he replied. ''Maybe I also missed asking you something,'' she concluded. Therefore, both decided to leave the restaurant separately.
