The InnaTic telecommunications company, located in the Murcian town of Alcantarilla, has released one of the most surreal anecdotes that the company has starred in.
The person in charge of the organization's telephone line, Alicia Manzanares, has indicated to EFE that InnaTic has recently been receiving calls and WhatsApp messages asking about "Spring Shield". The reason: the mobile number appeared in a chapter of The Simpsons first broadcast in Spain 21 years ago.
This is episode 22 of season 13, entitled "Dad's got a new license plate", in which Homer Simpson creates his own citizen security patrol called 'Spring Shield'. In the chapter, the father of the Simpson family advertises himself on television with the telephone number 636 555 347 2, the same as the Murcian company, except for 2.
The employee explained that she received the first WhatsApp message in 2021, but that she was asked "for something that she had no idea what it was", so she decided to ignore it.
It was not until January 2022 when, after several calls and messages asking "Spring Escudo" for help, an unknown number informed him of what was happening and explained that he shared a telephone line with a citizen surveillance service that went out in The Simpson.
"They started sending us WhatsApp messages two years ago, and the last call was last week," says Alicia. "It doesn't bother us, we laugh about it because we are a team of young people who have grown up with this series and who spend many hours concentrating in front of the computer; so these messages and calls make us laugh," details the person in charge of the Murcian company.
The calls and jokes that the company has received have ended up creating a funny anecdote and finally, Manzanares wanted to remember one of the anonymous calls that advised him to keep the number "as if it were gold because it appears in the best television series on the history".
