Refueling is becoming more and more expensive. In September, gasoline and diesel have become more expensive by 2.3% and 4.6%, respectively, according to the latest data from the European Union Petroleum Bulletin, which includes the average price recorded at more than 11,400 service stations. Gasoline has had 12 weeks of increases, from July 10, in the middle of the summer holidays, to September 28, when this bulletin was closed. In all that time, at gas stations it has always been above 1.70 euros per liter. This is the most expensive figure since mid-July 2022, when it reached 1.75 euros per liter despite the bonus approved by the Government being in force at the time.
In the case of diesel, it also has twelve consecutive weeks on the rise and has a chain of 6 above 1.6 euros per liter. With all this, this fuel registers the highest price since the last week of January 2023, when it exceeded 1.70 euros, according to the data in this bulletin.
Since the beginning of the year, both fuels have increased by 27% and 15.5%, respectively, although the first week took into account the last days of the discount applied. In the last year the increase stood at 19% in the case of gasoline and 4% in the case of diesel, taking into account that last year the discounts were still in force at this time.
According to this report, the increase is smaller in Spain. The price of both fuels in our country is lower than that recorded on average in the euro zone and the Europe of 27. However, prices continue to rise.
