Telefónica and PortAventura World join forces to revolutionize the entertainment sector

The PortAventura World tourist complex and Telefónica's main open innovation program, Wayra, have joined forces with the aim of finding the most innovative startups that redefine the entertainment and theme parks sector, through their innovation hub, Adventure Labs. Registration for participants is open from November 13 to December 13. The winner will be announced in early 2024.

According to a press release published this Monday by both companies, this alliance is looking for new entrepreneurs from all over the world who are in the late-seed or pre-series phase and who work with technologies that drive the technology industry, such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence , internet of things, robotics, or metaverse, among others.

In addition, they must be specialized in some of these areas: improving customer satisfaction, creating unique, personalized and memorable digital experiences, achieving efficiency in maintenance or operations or being able to carry out a sustainable transformation.

In this way, companies will be able to accelerate the development of their products, gain experience and visibility in events in which the company participates, access to a maximum of 10,000 euros to carry out their project, attract the attention of potential investors, gain visibility internationally and, as a consequence, expand its portfolio of products or services.

Likewise, through Wayra, startups will gain access to Telefónica's entire open innovation ecosystem, invitations to company events and contact with leading entrepreneurship experts and investors who can advise and help them for the proper development of their project.

Andreu Tobella Brunet, digital director of PortAventura World, has expressed his joy at joining Wayra. "Theme parks and resorts will evolve to become true epicenters of the generation of digital and entertainment experiences, and that is why we will continue to focus on technology and innovation."

For her part, Marta Atúnez, director of Wayra Barcelona, said that they are proud to partner with the amusement park. "Together, we will redefine the entertainment and leisure industry for all the visitors who come every year to live the PortAventura World experience."
