The Spanish Paralympic cycling team opened the 2024 season with a haul of five medals on the first day of the World Cup in Adelaide (Australia) in the time trial modality with victories by Ricardo Ten and Damián Ramos.

In the C1 category, the world champion Ricardo Ten once again dominated with ease and won the gold with a twenty-five second advantage over the German Pierre Senska.

The Galician Damián Ramos, in the C4 class, made a good time that took him to the top of the podium ahead of the Belgian Louis Clincke and the Polish Bartlomiej Bertolin.

In C2, Luis Javier Arcega won the silver medal on the Adelaide circuit, where the Australian Darren Hicks was the main protagonist.

In C3, one of the closest tests, Eduardo Santas was only fifteen seconds away from achieving victory, finally being third on the podium where the Canadian Alexandre Hayward took the victory.

Among the tandems, the duo formed by Christian Venge and Eloy Teruel, third in the last European Championship, returned to the podium, this time to collect the silver medal behind the Dutch Tristan Bangma and Patrick Bos.

In the handbikes, Luis Miguel García-Marquina (H3) was just four seconds away from being on the podium and Martín Berchesi (H4) finished eighth in a category dominated by the Belgian Jonas Van de Steene.

In tricycles, Gonzalo García Abella (T1) from Madrid settled for seventh position.
