Thomas Dahlem, visible face of SEAT-Volkswagen in the Valencian Community for being the CEO of PowerCO, promoter of the Sagunt battery gigafactory, returns to Germany. In his place, Andreas Rottman will be the new CEO and COO of PowerCo Spain as of July 1, 2024.

In his new position, he will join the team formed by Javier Rivera, CFO, and Alexander Dittrich, Head of Human Resources, on the Board of Directors of PowerCo Spain.

The company explained this Tuesday that Thomas Dahlem will return to Germany for personal reasons and "with immediate effect" to assume new responsibilities within the Volkswagen Group. "We would like to thank Thomas Dahlem for his successful work in Valencia. He has established PowerCo Spain from scratch, completed the first phase of construction of the cell factory and expanded the team to 100 employees. While we regret his departure, we have full respect for his decision ", says Frank Blome, CEO of PowerCo SE.

Of the new manager, the company points out that it has an experienced production team that will work on the construction of the plant for the full start of production in 2026. Andreas Rottmann studied electrical and automotive engineering, as well as air traffic control. He has held various management positions within the Volkswagen Group for 20 years. Currently, he is Head of Components and Powertrain at FAW-Volkswagen in China and is responsible for plants in Changchun, Chengdu and Foshan.
