This Thursday, Renfe will put 61,000 weekly tickets on sale for high-speed services from Madrid to Galicia (Vigo, A Coruña, Santiago) and to Asturias, where the AVE debuts.
Thus, as explained by Renfe, the routes will begin to circulate from May 21 using the new S106 trains from the manufacturer Talgo, which have more than 500 seats. The tickets will go on sale with a launch campaign of around 78,350, with 'super prices' ranging from 18 euros.
The new AVE services in Galicia and Asturias will also benefit the cities of Castilla y León through which the AVE S106 will circulate, as they are a high-speed line: Zamora, Segovia, León, Palencia or Valladolid (as well as Madrid).
In Asturias, the debut of the AVE is absolute with the arrival of the S106, since until now the Principality only had long-distance connections.
The travel times of the Asturias-Madrid AVE translate into times of just over 3 hours to Oviedo and half an hour more to Gijón. The new offer also means replacing two current Alvia services with two AVE services on the Gijón-Madrid-Castellón (through train) and Gijón-Madrid connections, with more seats and comfort improvements.
In Galicia, Renfe launches the AVE service with the S106 in the cities of Vigo, Pontevedra, Vilagarcía, Santiago and A Coruña, after in 2021 the Renfe high-speed service debuted in Galicia with a direct connection Madrid-Ourense, which Currently it also extends to Alicante.
