Pamesa Cerámica explores new fuels to limit the use of gas in the energy crisis

Pamesa Grupo Empresarial presented yesterday in Castellón the first plant in the world capable of 100% replacing natural gas. The facility, located in Onda, uses eCombustible, a new fuel whose characteristics, they say, are variable, so it can be used in existing equipment without the need for modifications.

Fernando Roig, president of Grupo Pamesa, pointed out that this is "a transcendental step because it represents an energy revolution by being able to generate our hydrogen-based fuel in our own facilities and at a much more competitive price than natural gas." For Roig, this is the beginning "of a new era towards a more sustainable future".

As the company explained, the eFuel generation process uses electrical energy to convert water into fuel using a special and improved electrolysis technique; transforming hydrogen with electromagnetic impulses to generate a highly efficient fuel.

The water is processed in a treatment plant where elements such as heavy metals and lime are removed. It then enters the system where it breaks down into hydrogen and oxygen.

They add that this patented process achieves a clean and efficient fuel that only releases water vapor when burned, "completely" eliminating carbon emissions.

The efficiency of eFuel can replace 100% of traditional fossil fuels, assuming a "historical transformation" in thermal energy processes.
