New Adrenaline 5.0, the bike with the lightest frame manufactured by the Spanish brand MMR

The MMR Adrenaline is a bicycle designed for high competition and within reach of end users, which will reach points of sale in the first half of 2024 with four mounting options, two colors and five sizes (XS to XL). The standard version of the new road frame from the Asturian firm is made entirely of intermediate modulus carbon fiber (Teijin -UTS50-12K).

For its part, the SL version combines high and ultra-high modulus carbon fibers (Tejin -IMS65-24K and UMS40-24K), distributed and laminated with different orientations, representing 68% and 32%, respectively, of the carbon used in the making.

With these two options, in the words of Chechu Rubiera, MMR engineering manager, “a standard model with carbon with a lower elastic modulus that responds better elastically to vertical loads is achieved; and, on the other hand, a light and rigid model (SL) that seeks to offer better power transfer to the rear wheel without losses due to deformation.”

With the update for 2024 of the Adrenaline we wanted to faithfully respect the origins of this renowned road frame, but becoming the lightest frame manufactured by MMR in its entire history.

“The type of carbon has not been the only decision that has allowed us to lose weight. The new tube shapes that are more rounded and contained in volume are part of this reduction. And if we talk about a smaller volume, we talk about a smaller frontal surface, which allows the aerodynamics of the bicycle to be improved at high speeds,” says Rubiera.

Regarding its geometry, the Adrenaline maintains its very short chainstays that will provide agility and reactivity, and a 1.5-inch straight steering that allows the wiring to be integrated internally, offering a clean aesthetic while providing greater rigidity to the directional structure.

Finally, the wheel arch has been updated, leaving free space for tires up to 32mm. A good option for those looking for comfort and low rolling coefficient at high pressures. Likewise, it incorporates the Sram UDH temple.

The Asturian firm MMR has focused its clearly competitive orientation on technology and its own designs, thanks to which it has become a leading bicycle manufacturer brand for illustrious athletes such as Luis Enrique, Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz, Josep Betalú, Óscar Freire, or the creator Edgar Plans.

Its global ambassador, Samuel Sánchez, has led the technical direction of one of its most emblematic projects since 2015: the MMR Cycling Academy, a meeting point for future stars between the ages of 9 and 18 who perfect their training to become "human and sporting leaders." ", without intending to exclusively create cycling champions.
