Indra puts a pike in the US with the launch of an air traffic subsidiary

Indra lands in the United States market with the launch of its own subsidiary in the country, Indra Air Traffic Inc. The company's presentation event took place this Monday in Overland Park (Kansas). It is a strategic operation for the company chaired by Marc Murtra, which is currently in the process of searching for a new CEO.

The landing in the US comes after Indra closes the purchase from Italian Leonardo of its air traffic management firm, Selex. As reported by the company, the event was attended by the Senator from Kansas, Jerry Moran; State Congresswoman Sharice Davids; Kansas Under Secretary of Commerce Paul Hughes; and Overland Park City Council President Jim Kite. On behalf of Indra, the director of ATM business Strategy, Ramón Tarrech, and the general director of Indra Air Traffic Inc, Bill Colligan, who acted as master of ceremonies, participated.

Indra explained that the operation seeks to turn this subsidiary into the spearhead to opt for the next renewal of air infrastructure in the United States. In the same way, it intends to offer some of the most cutting-edge technologies that are beginning to be implemented around the world and that bear the company's stamp.

“To them are now added the assets incorporated in the United States, among which is the only distance measuring equipment (DME) certified by the FAA, and new clients such as the Air Force (US Air Force) or the US Navy ( US Navy), which complement Indra's offer and client portfolio”, added the Spanish listed company.

"The United States is one of the largest national airspaces in the world and its air traffic business has great growth potential," Ramón Tarrech, director of Strategy for this branch of Indra, said on Monday. "Strengthening our presence and activity in the country opens up enormous opportunities for us, will help us complete our leadership in the sector on a global scale and will allow us to introduce internationally proven cutting-edge technology in a country with a clearly innovative DNA," he added.

Bill Colligan, CEO of Indra Air Traffic Inc., pointed out, for his part, that becoming part of Indra, a world leading company in the sector, will help us strengthen our portfolio and offer a comprehensive service to our customers". In his opinion, "Indra is the only company in the world that has its own technology that covers all segments of the industry and is capable of fully managing a flight in all its stages."

Indra's new subsidiary in the United States has a hundred professionals and a production plant in Overland Park, Kansas. At these facilities, Indra is going to create a center of excellence for air navigation aid systems (NAVAIDS) from which it will serve customers in the US and the rest of the world, and which will be the starting point for the development of a industrial plan that aims to incorporate and market other products from Indra's portfolio and add new capacities.
