Foreign investment in Valencia: 79 million euros in economic impact and 1,200 jobs

The challenge of the Invest in València office, created in 2021, was to attract and accompany national and international investments of all kinds, although mainly in the technological and innovation sectors and for the moment, the promoters seem satisfied with what has been achieved. Yesterday they took stock of these two years of project, launched by the Valencia City Council and the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia, to celebrate that there are 30 international firms that have arrived accompanied by the Office.

A total of 16 firms have landed with them in 2023, such as Deutsche Telekom, Apex, Akkodis, BeDisruptive or CDTM. Translated, according to Cámara Valencia, there are 79 million in expected economic impact and the generation of more than 1,200 jobs over the next two years in the city.

Yesterday's celebration in the Veles e Vents building was attended by the councilor for innovation and investments Paula Llobet, and the president of the Valencia Chamber, José Vicente Morata and representatives of the Valencian innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, partners, office collaborators and representatives of companies that are already established in Valencia.

They talk about "excellent" results in 2023. “The impact that the office has on the city is not only economic, but also technological and social. Invest in Valencia has become a key player within the business fabric,” said Paula Llobet, who highlighted “the success of creating a one-stop shop for all foreign investors who are increasingly focusing on the city as a technological hub. and reference innovation.”

The council has already confirmed an allocation of 450,000 euros for 2024, almost 22% more than in the previous year. Compared to the 14 success stories confirmed in the first year, with a newly opened office, the growth reflected in its second year of operation reaches 14%.

For his part, the president of the Valencia Chamber valued the results of the Office very positively, “an example of public-private collaboration that aims to attract investment and highlight the attractiveness of the city as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship.”

For her part, the director of Invest in Valencia, María Escartí, announced that next year the strategic sectors will be expanded, incorporating renewable energies or gaming and the Ambassador VLC program will be implemented.
