Ford Valencia will apply a new ERTE until June 20 while the staff asks for "certainties"

The UGT-PV union at the Ford Almussafes plant will accept a new ERTE tomorrow at the factory between April 20 and June 20. In practice it means that the staff chains one new ERTE after another, since the still lukewarm decisions regarding the electrification platform have not allowed the personnel and production needs to be met.

UGT-PV explains that to the surplus generated by the completion of the Ford Transit these days, which was already taken for granted, they now add the shortage of parts in the engine plant and that both reasons force this measure to be proposed.

However, it does not divert attention from the main issue at the plant, the future assignment of a "multi-energy" model, as the company advanced on April 10.

That is why the union points out that even with the unforeseen events, its positions are not altered and reminds management, and the workers they address and represent, that before June 20 there must be "certainties that allow negotiating situations long term".

Specifically, the ERTE will affect 1,400 people per day in vehicle manufacturing (800 due to the cessation of the Transit and 600 due to the lack of production) and 900 people in engines. The engine plant will not have activity in all its areas for 10 days; 5 days in May (20,21,22,27 and 28), and 5 days in June (3,10,11,17 and 18). This impact will mean not working on vehicles for four weeks on the evening shift. For ten days it will affect more than 2,000 workers.
