“Day one” of youth talent can begin with the bench

The talent concentrated in Catalonia, as well as its entrepreneurial capacity among its younger population, have led - among many other factors - for this Mediterranean region to be considered the most important innovation hub in southern Europe.

This business level is easily detected in objective yearbooks that demonstrate the potential of the new generations. Thus, Forbes reports that fifteen young Catalans appear on the latest list of young businessmen and women under 30 years of age.

Among them, we would find leaders of star-ups dedicated to technology, sustainability, sales and fashion. To the question that many people ask in relation to how these young people have obtained the necessary capital to develop their exciting projects, it is worth highlighting the role of banking in this adventure.

Financial entities such as CaixaBank, which has a division specialized in technology companies and their investors, DayOne, supports, develops and accompanies all these young, rapidly developing companies with a global scope of action, which carry out value-added activities and are financed with own funds.

But to delve deeper into the topic and find out how new talents have their business opportunities, La Vanguardia and CaixaBank are organizing an informative event aimed at discovering how our young people can achieve their dreams to design our future. What support do they have? What do they need from the moment they create their company to better position themselves in the sector?

These and other questions will be answered with Javier Silvestre, director of DayOne in Barcelona; Marc Coloma, CEO and co-founder of Heura Foods; Sara Toledano, CEO of Sycai Medical; Helena Torras, investor and Iván Bofarull director of Innovation at ESADE.

The event can be followed live by streaming through the La Vanguardia website, on November 17 starting at 11 a.m.
