Cupra hits off-road with the new Wilson Bela Cupra V2 paddle tennis racket

Cupra's sweet creative moment goes beyond cars and roads. In addition to the success of cars such as the Formentor or the Born -or the recent presentation of the new 100% electric Tavascan and Raval-, the manufacturer from Martorell is also committed to paddle tennis. And it is that, like the brand itself, paddle tennis is the fastest growing sport in Europe and one of the most popular currently in Spain.

Cupra's results in the first quarter of this 2023 financial year invite optimism, with almost 10,000 units sold from the Born and with the Formentor in first place among SUVs sold by the leasing formula.

But Cupra is an imaginative, brash and daring brand, as Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Seat and Cupra, has stated on many occasions.

In this way, in a demonstration of its commitment to innovation and sports news, the brand has presented at Casa Seat, on Barcelona's Passeig de Gràcia, the new Wilson Bela Cupra V2 paddle tennis racket.

Fernando Belasteguín, who has been number one in the world for 16 years in a row, was the guest star at an event that was also attended by Ignasi Prieto, Cupra's Global Marketing Director and Iñaki Cabrera, Wilson's Global Business Director.

"Cupra and the world of paddle tennis share more than just a competitive spirit, they are united by a community of people driven by their passion," said Ignasi Prieto.

Fernando Belasteguín, who is often compared to the soccer player Messi, has been involved in paddle tennis for more than 25 years and continues to bring the same passion as when he started as a professional in 1995.

Like the Cupra cars themselves, the new blade stands out for its striking design in black and with the logo in Copper color. In a sample of what it means to push the limits of innovation, the racket has been developed by Wilson with SpinEffect technology, with textured surfaces and carbon fiber elements.

And to optimize control on the track, it has a thickness of 38 millimeters and a weight of 365 grams. In the words of Belasteguín "it is a perfect combination of power, control and comfort". The athlete will debut the new Cupra V2 shovel at the Valencia Open from July 1 to 9.
