Catalonia leads the projects presented to the Perte for Industrial decarbonization

Catalonia has led the presentation of projects to receive subsidies and aid from the first line of action of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (Perte) of Industrial Decarbonization with 26 of the 144 projects that the Ministry of Industry has received.

Line one of comprehensive action aid for decarbonization is endowed with 1,000 million euros, 500 million in subsidies and another 500 million in loans. Specific,

This first line is intended for public and private commercial companies that carry out industrial activities, as well as groups that they are forming with other companies that contribute to the decarbonization of a single main facility. It has an endowment of 1,000 million euros which, in principle, were going to be distributed equally between grants and loans, but the applications received are divided into 1,000 euros in grants and 118.2 million in loans.

Along with Catalonia, the Basque Country with 20 projects, the Valencian Community with 18 projects, Asturias and Andalusia with 14 projects each have been the communities with the most requests for aid.

On the sectorial side, the food industry stands out, to which 32 projects belong, the manufacturing of non-metallic mineral products with 27 projects and metallurgy, manufacturing of iron, steel and ferroalloy products with 19 projects have been the most active.

The Ministry of Industry has recalled that a second call for line one is planned throughout the second semester, for projects whose completion may go beyond the year 2026. In total, the economic endowment associated with this Perte has a public investment of 3,170 million euros, which, according to the Government, will make it possible to mobilize up to 11,800 million euros of total investment.
