Baxi raises its investment in the Spanish aerothermal R&D center to 13 million

The company -the former Roca Calefacción- have announced to the staff this morning the replacement of Jordi Mestres, general director of Baxi in Spain and Portugal, who will go on to direct the French subsidiary of Thermea Group in France, where it operates under the De Dietrich brand and has a turnover of close to 500 million euros and a workforce of more than 1,400 employees. Joan Blanch, current financial director, will be the new general director of Baxi in the peninsula, as of April 1.

Baxi is one of the most relevant firms in the air conditioning market in Spain and Portugal, where it maintains the employment of 1,200 people (including technical service) with a turnover of close to 220 million euros. The company accelerated its growth last year with the integration of Hiplus, the company that acquired the PHI venture capital fund in 2021, which under the Hitecsa brand produces and installs air conditioning systems for large buildings and equipment.

The group, with a Dutch parent company, has accelerated its diversification and internationalization in recent years, so that boilers represent barely 50% of its sales and the industrial commitment is on growing technologies, especially solar panels and aerothermal energy. The company has a solar panel plant in Castellbisbal, which is the production reference for the entire group.

BDR Thermea Group, is a group specialized in air conditioning solutions that employs 6,100 people and annually invoices some 1,700 million euros. The group's sole shareholder is the BDR Thermea Shareholder Foundation, created by the founders to guarantee the continuity of the company and the quality of employment for its workers. BDR Thermea distributes its products in more than 100 countries around the world, and is especially strong in Europe, Turkey, Russia and China.
