A video game developed by students of the Video Game Design and Production Degree at TecnoCampus has won the award for Best Academic Game in the recent edition of IndieDevDay. It is a fair dedicated to independent video games that held its sixth edition on September 8, 9 and 10 at the Farga del Hospitalet.

Specifically, the award-winning video game is titled 'AXO', by students Marina Codony, Hodei Otegi González, Marc Lloret, Elisabeth Alzueta, Alex Romera, Víctor Hernando and Arnau Oliveras. This is a game that proposes creating 3-dimensional puzzles with a cartoon aesthetic. This same game was already one of the winners in the TecnoGames contest.

In addition to AXO, other video games by TecnoCampus students will be presented at IndieDevDay: 'Riddle Manor', by students Gerard Coquard, Héctor Vergel, Jan de Nobel, Lluc Parera, Cora Real, Raúl Ruiz and Pascal Sastre; 'Bubble Heights', by the students Guillem Arrojo, Veronika Bolshakova, Alex Busquets, Pol Casas, Joan Mora, Josep Nubiola, Alex Rodríguez, Javier Sagalés and Carla Vegas; 'Yokai' and 'Yocai Lost Tapes', by the students Anass Arrahi, Marc Badal, Arnau Carbonell, Albert Castaño, Enric Planas, Francesc Ruiz and Etna Sagüés; and 'Light Hope', by Pablo Escribano, Aran Piris, Ian Roche, Grazielly Sanchez and Marc Sans.

The TecnoCampus had a stand where five games developed by students from the Video Game Design and Production Degree were exhibited, as part of the Projects II and Projects III subjects. The development was accompanied by professors of the degree who are also professionals in the video game industry: Jordi Arnal (Kaneda Games), Paolo Gambardella (Tangelo Games), Albert Ramon (Kaneda Games), Dani Candil (Alkimia Interactive), Rafa Gonzalez (Alkimia Interactive) and Javier Untoria (Alkimia Interactive).

The person in charge of events for the degree, Víctor Manuel Navarro, explains that participating in this event allows them to “promote their games, present them and sell them. "It is a good learning process to acquire these skills."

The fair, sponsored among others by TecnoCampus, has had an expanded format and a change of location this year, which allows the event to grow in size and quality. The event had more game exhibition spaces, talks and a full day dedicated to the professional sector.
