The differences between neighbors are surprising. From one street to another, from one city to its border, income can vary greatly. Although it is not always in our hands, the decisions we make in life have a lot of impact. From career to investment planning or taxes, there are key points that can make the difference between being rich or not.

The money. San Sebastián, Madrid and Barcelona share the richest neighborhoods in Spain. It's not surprising. But what if we told you that Girona sneaks in between them? Or that the biggest salary differences are in Madrid? The disparities are experienced from street to street, neighborhood to neighborhood. Your neighbor may have money and you may not, as the official statistics known these days reflect.

For some, wealth is less relevant and they only think about when they will stop working: there are several aspects to take into account if you retire in 2024.

The race. To retire you will have to contribute something. Work and climb. "But don't make the mistake of wanting to take your boss's position," says Albert Triola, someone who has reached the top of a multinational. The thing is to train, prepare and let destiny dictate. Now the debate is to work less, about 37.5 hours: these will be the main beneficiaries of cutting the day. There are fewer hours but we live longer and longer, which makes us also look forward to retirement. Among women, retiring costs more and there is a reason.

The investment. Where money is put also creates distances. The first thing is to read the world, the markets, anticipate. With several conflicts open, what would a new world war mean for the investor? The water business, where many see a wealth of investment, can also be a focus of disputes. It seems more certain that investing in IPOs can ruin you. Professor Pablo Foncillas explains it: those who have invested before are the true beneficiaries...

The taxes. Taxation, taking advantage of it, helps maintain assets. Before the end of the year there are several tricks to save on paying taxes, but you have to move now. From your home to your car or donations, everything serves to pay less to the Treasury. To save some, opt for getting out of the system and decentralized finance (Podcast). We try to answer what they are, why they can shape the future and if they are suitable for anyone.

The best-selling car in Spain is no longer Chinese. Another low-cost car takes the throne from the MG ZS. The market has recovered its tone after a disastrous 2022, but the Spanish are not so willing to spend more or opt for more expensive electric vehicles.

The Euribor climbs to 4.160%. Mortgages become another hundred euros more expensive. The ECB's rate hike seems to be reaching its ceiling and the reference stabilizes at 4%, but continues to increase... How much will we have to pay from now on?
