The Local Police of Blanes (Selva) found on Wednesday a dead woman floating in the water on the external breakwater of the Sailing Club. The warning came at eleven thirty at noon when two young people alerted the emergency services that they had seen a woman in the water.

The Blanes Local Police and workers from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) traveled to the scene of the events where they tried to resuscitate the victim's body. Finally, two EMS doctors ruled the woman dead and around two in the afternoon the judge ordered the removal of her body. At this time it has not been possible to identify who the victim was and the Civil Guard is investigating the case.

When the Local Police officers and EMS health professionals arrived, they performed resuscitation maneuvers in shifts. They also used a defibrillator, although without success. Finally two doctors ruled the woman dead. Meanwhile, a medical helicopter had already been activated and landed on Blanes beach to carry out the transfer as quickly as possible to a health center.

The Blanes Local Police began working to identify the victim's body. The swimmer's belongings were found on the beach, near where she was found floating in the water. However, there was no document that allowed us to know her identity. The local police officers contacted some of the regular swimmers at Blanes beach to find out if they knew her, but none of them recognized her.

Finally, around two in the afternoon, the judge ruled that the body should be removed and the operation was ended. From now on, the investigation of the case falls into the hands of the Civil Guard.
