Where have you parked? The novelty of Google Maps that allows you to find the car

Google Maps, Alphabet's quintessential navigation application, is in the process of being updated to provide users with an even more complete and functional experience. The latest update, which is currently being rolled out, promises to add innovative features to the well-known blue dot that indicates the exact location on the map.

This menu will include utilities such as the option to save the location of where you parked (something that has been available for years), create an anchor to share the position with other users, and calibrate the accuracy of the position. In this way, frequent problems of errors in determining the user's location are resolved.

To use the calibration feature, users will need to grant access to the phone's camera and focus on nearby buildings, stores and signs. The application, after a few seconds, will show the exact position in a more realistic way. Additionally, by clicking on this button, you can access the location history, which can be easily activated or deactivated. In this way, locating the exact location of the vehicle will be easier than ever.

One of the most anticipated developments is the upcoming ability of Google Maps to store location data directly on the user's device, eliminating the need to store it in the cloud. Google is working to make this possible and ensures that, once implemented, data will be automatically deleted after three months, thus providing an additional layer of security and privacy.

But that is not all. Google has another significant update in store that will allow users to delete all data related to a location directly from the app. Until now, despite deleting the information in the application, there were still records in the web browser and other Google tools, but this new update will change that scenario.

The company highlights the usefulness of this function for situations such as preparing surprises, such as birthday parties, where you want to delete all activity related to a specific location. However, it also points out its importance in more serious cases, such as helping people who suffer abuse and mistreatment, giving them the ability to erase at once all the activity linked to a specific place, such as police stations or care centers for women victims of sexist violence.

The Android Auto application incorporates a new function that allows you to remember the location of the vehicle in a simple and automatic way. Through voice commands such as "Ok Google", users can activate this function that synchronizes information with the Google account, allowing you to check the car's location on any Android device.

The application interface now displays a dedicated button when arriving at the destination that allows you to save the parking location with a simple touch on the screen. This function will be progressively implemented to all users, offering a practical solution for those absent-minded people who forget where they have parked.
