The Golden State Warriors fined Draymond Green for punching teammate Jordan Poole during practice last week but decided not to suspend the player.
The Warriors plan to reinstate Green on Thursday and give him minutes in Friday's preseason game against the Denver Nuggets, US media reported Wednesday.
"I was wrong for what I did on Wednesday (last week) and for that I apologized to the team and to Jordan, but I want to go one step further. The publication of the video (of his punch) is something that causes a lot of shame. It is something that makes me uncomfortable, and that's something that affects me, but it's also the feeling of discomfort that Jordan has, that this team has, that this franchise has," Green said at a recent news conference.
"Her family saw that video, her mother saw the video, her father saw the video. If my mother had seen that video, I know how she would react and I know what she would do. So I apologize to her mother, her father, her family and friends. , there is a feeling of discomfort," he added.
The altercation between Green and Poole occurred in a Warriors training session last Wednesday and last Friday TMZ released the video in which the number 23 is seen giving a strong punch to his partner, who fell to the ground from the blow.
The new NBA season will begin on October 18 with the Warriors as defending champions.
