Viladecans, Sant Boi and El Prat continue among the cities with the most income equality

The area of the Llobregat delta is a territory of economic equality among its neighbors, according to the latest edition of the annual Atlas of household income distribution, prepared by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The report, published recently, places Viladecans, Sant Boi de Llobregat and El Prat de Llobregat among the five Spanish cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants with the greatest equanimity in family income.

The classification among 151 localities, carried out with data from 2021 and published recently, is headed by Fuenlabrada and Mollet del Vallès. In fact, these two cities succeed Viladecans and Sant Boi, which in the previous report occupied tied first position.

The ranking is prepared through an index called Gini, an indicator that "allows us to better understand the distribution of income compared to other data that more generically measure the amount of average income," as explained by the Viladecans City Council in a release. The lower this index, the less disparity between family incomes.

Fuenlabrada and Mollet del Vallès have achieved a score of 26.7 each. Behind, with two tenths more, are Viladecans and Sant Boi de Llobregat with 26.9. The next city in the classification is El Prat de Llobregat with 27.3.
