Valencia cuts 40 illegal connections to the electrical grid to make it difficult to occupy houses

The Valencia City Council wants to put all possible obstacles to the phenomenon of home occupation in some neighborhoods of the city. Sources from the council that co-governs PP and Vox reported that the València Local Police continue working this week together with the company Iberdrola in the regularization of fraudulent electrical connections in the Orriols neighborhood.

Thus, agents from the 6th Proximity Police Station continue to monitor whether illegal reconnections occur after their recent action in which they disconnected 65 illegal connections. In this device, yesterday they intervened in 40 fraudulent connections that were in 29 buildings in the neighborhood.

In a statement, the City Council reported that the inspections began early yesterday morning and continue today. Three patrols from the 6th Proximity Police Station together with two teams from the electricity company have supervised the locations that have recorded the most fraud. The interventions have been concentrated on Padre Viñas, San Juan de la Peña and Duque de Mandas streets.

The main objective of this action is to regularize the correct functioning of the network and avoid, as far as possible, new occupations that have caused coexistence problems in Orriols. Along these lines, the Valencia Local Police will continue to carry out these inspections in the neighborhood where more than a hundred illegal connections have already been intervened and offering the assistance of Social Services to all those people who voluntarily vacate occupied properties.
