Two people have died and five others have been injured in a traffic accident that occurred this morning on the GI-636 highway as it passes through the Guipuzcoan town of Errenteria when two passenger cars collided.
The accident took place around 3:45 p.m. when, for reasons that are being investigated, two vehicles collided on the GI-636 regional road in the municipality of Errenteria.
As a result of the crash, some of the occupants were trapped and the intervention of firefighters was necessary to extract the injured from the cars.
Once released, the doctor who attended the scene confirmed the death of two of the victims as a result of the injuries suffered.
Another five people had to be evacuated to the Donostia de San Sebastián and Bidasoa hospitals, in Irun, with injuries of varying degrees.
The road has been closed to traffic and the Ertzaintza has launched an investigation in order to clarify the circumstances of this fatal accident.
