Two Britons who pretended to transport a bomb on their plane are expelled from Colombia

Two British citizens were expelled from Colombia this Friday after pretending to transport a bomb in their luggage at Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport, which forced a large security deployment and delays on other flights, Migración Colombia reported.

"For having put the operational safety of El Dorado Airport at risk, generating delays in air operations and harming hundreds of travelers, Migration Colombia expelled British travelers Mubin Abdul and Patel Ravin Jagdish last night," the statement explained.

At check-in, when the agent asked them if they were carrying items that were not allowed in their checked luggage, one of them responded that they were carrying a bomb, to which his traveling companion smiled.

After this potential threat, the airport and the National Police activated the security protocols and checked all the luggage on that flight with an "anti-explosive canine biosensor" and carried out an exhaustive inspection of the plane, which caused the delays of other flights and the impact of hundreds of passengers.

Once the threat was dismissed, the authorities placed the two Britons at the disposal of Migration Colombia, which expelled them.

With this measure, the two Britons will not be able to enter Colombian territory for the next ten years without the possibility of appeal.
