Junts will use the Government control session this Wednesday in Congress to demand that the coalition Executive apologize for the execution under Franco of the anarchist militant Salvador Puig Antich, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of his death.

The anti-Francoist Salvador Puig Antich was executed in the Modelo prison in Barcelona after being declared guilty by a Court Martial of the death of a Police sub-inspector in the Catalan capital, after a trial without guarantees or conclusive evidence in which he was the authorship. The young Catalan anarchist and anti-fascist militant was the last political prisoner of the Franco dictatorship to be executed with the garrote, on March 2, 1974, at just 25 years old, one year before Franco's death.

Taking advantage of the 50 years of its execution, Junts registered a parliamentary question that will be addressed to the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres. It will be the post-convergent deputy Eduard Pujol who, during this Wednesday's plenary session, questions the Government if they intend to apologize for the execution of Puig Antich.

This parliamentary question is added to the multiple commemorative events that have been organized in Catalonia to pay tribute to his figure. Among them those organized in the same prison where he was executed, La Model, or in Barcelona City Hall.
