"The dialogue table is an exhausted avenue". These terms were pronounced this Thursday by Junts per Catalunya through its vice-president and spokesperson, Josep Rius, after the meeting of Pedro Sánchez and Pere Aragonès in which it was agreed to reactivate the dialogue table in the first quarter of 2024.
“We have entered a new stage,” said Rius from the corridors of the Parliament, in an appearance in which he alluded to the verification mechanism that participates in the PSOE and JxCat negotiations.
“At Junts we are self-demanding, but we will also be demanding with the other party, in the sense that there has to be a verifier, an international verification mechanism, to accompany the agreements,” said the post-convergent deputy, who was alluding to the meeting of his training with the socialists in Geneva.
In relation to the other agreements, referring to the transfer of the minimum vital income or Rodalies, Rius has pointed out that "the announced transfers if they are not accompanied by resources and full decision-making capacity will be of little use and will become big announcements and a transfer of problems that do not benefit citizens." "In addition to big announcements, specifics are needed so that they are not cosmetic operations. We want to know the fine print," he concluded.
