The Tarragona Court has sentenced three members of a neo-Nazi group to several months in prison for attacking and extorting another member of the organization during the years 2013 and 2014. It has also acquitted a fourth for two counts of injury. The judge imposed joint and several compensation of 2,520 euros for the victim.

The prosecution and the defense reached an agreement this Monday, when the trial was scheduled.

Although initially the public prosecutor's office asked them for a sentence of ten years in prison, the mitigating factor of undue delays has been taken into account.

The convicts were accused of one crime of extortion, another of robbery with force and two counts of injuries.

The events date back to March 2012 in Manresa, within the framework of an anti-fascist concert, where a group of between ten and fifteen people of extreme right ideology and members of the "skinhead" movements attacked another person in the doors of the premises.

As a result of these events, several members of the group were imprisoned and sentenced to pay compensation of 94,000 euros.

Together with other members of the neo-Nazi group, the four investigated began to raise funds to pay compensation. From that moment on, they extorted, intimidated, threatened and attacked the victim with the aim of getting him to help them financially. They did it during September 2013 until the summer of 2014.

The sentence details that one of the accused threatened him, telling him that they would "cut him up" if he did not pay an amount of 2,500 euros. "I have sixteen people in prison, you have to collaborate."

"I will leave you without teeth, no one laughs at us. You will regret it your whole life, I know where you and your sister live. Either you pay or we will kill you," said one of the accused, according to the sentence. Verbal threats that over time were accompanied by physical attacks, to the point that the victim agreed to make various payments in bank accounts and in cash.

As a result of these events, the Provincial Court of Tarragona has sentenced the first defendant to eleven months in prison for the crime against public order by a criminal group for less serious crimes against people, for the crime of extortion and for the crime of robbery. with violence.

For the second and third defendants, the sentence is reduced to three months and fifteen days in prison for committing less serious crimes against people and for the crime of extortion. The three have been prohibited from coming within 500 meters or communicating with the victim for a period of ten years.

The fourth defendant has been acquitted as a person responsible for two minor offenses. However, the four will have to jointly and severally compensate the victim with 2,520 euros.
