This is how Julio Iglesias will celebrate his 80th birthday in his mansion in the Bahamas

Julio Iglesias turns 80 on September 23. On the occasion of this significant anniversary, the singer takes stock of his life with an exciting letter that he has sent to the magazine ¡Hola!, which this Wednesday dedicates its cover to him.

A letter in which the artist reflects on all his years of career and his current status as a Latin music legend, something that has not been easy to achieve. In addition, it is also discovered how he will celebrate this special birthday. Of course, unlike other music greats, who do opt for big parties and famous friends, Julio Iglesias will celebrate his big day in his own style, as discreetly as possible.

The artist does not plan to celebrate this birthday in a special way, but will do so from his mansion in the Bahamas, the home he shares with his wife, Miranda Rijnsburger; and his children: Miguel, Rodrigo, Victoria, Cristina and Guillermo. All of them will sing Happy Birthday to the artist in the strictest privacy.

Julio Iglesias has been unofficially retired since the pandemic broke out. The interpreter of Life continues the same  had planned a concert in the Malaga city of Fuengirola in August 2020, but the worsening of the health crisis caused his return to the stage to be cancelled.

Since then, there have been few occasions that the artist has been seen in public, even less since rumors began about an alleged worsening of his health at the end of 2022. The singer himself denied these speculations in El Partidazo de COPE, advancing that he planned to return to the stage as soon as possible. "See if I'm okay, I'm going to start singing in three or four months, God willing, that is, I'm perfect," he assured. However, he has not acted again.

Away from the stage since before the pandemic, Julio Iglesias has stayed busy writing his autobiography and planning his return to the stage. However, his new and innovative illusion is focused on the sea, since the artist is building a mega yacht in a shipyard in Poland. The singer has never been a fan of sailing, but this new acquisition will allow him to enjoy the sea and explore new horizons.

He is also expected to attend the inauguration of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium at the end of this year, after Florentino Pérez's personal invitation to the singer, a former Real Madrid player as goalkeeper in his youth category, with whom he debuted when he was only 19 years old.
