A shameful stoning in Marseille has put French football on a war footing. Olympique de Marseille fans surrounded the coach of their host, Olympique Lyon, on the eve of the duel that was to take place tonight (8:45 p.m.), and pelted the procession with stones.
One of the cobblestones broke the windows of the coach and Fabio Grosso, Lyon's coach, ended up injured in the head and had to be treated in the Velodrome infirmary. His second, Raffaele Longo, has also received a blow in the eye.
In the following moments, as spectators entered the stadium, the authorities have been watching the videos of the events and analyzing whether or not the match should be played.
Forty minutes after the attack, technicians and federation officials have decided to postpone the match, reports L'Équipe. The date is awaiting confirmation.
